Well Done INCT, the newest IAEA Collaborating Centre
On 30 April 2010 Mr. N. Ramamoorthy, Director of Physics and Chemistry Division, IAEA and Ms. A. Starz , Nuclear Energy Department, IAEA have officially passed a nomination of the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology (INCR), Warsaw Poland as an IAEA Collaborating Centre on Radiation Processing and Industrial Dosimetry.
INCT is one among eighteen Research & Development nuclear centers worldwide which obtained such nomination that includes Argonne National Laboratory, USA; Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization (ANSTO); National Institute of Radiological Science, Chiba, Japan; Sincrotrone ELETTRA, and Triest, Italy. The nomination is acknowledgements of INCT achievements and is an expression of thanks by the Agency.
The institute runs seven electron accelerators and two laboratory gamma cells. The Institute constructed and operates plant for health care products sterilization, food irradiation plant and plant for polymer modification. The Institute has supervised construction of the electron beam flue gas treatment plant with installed accelerators power over 1 MW, it is a biggest irradiation facility ever built.
